Their fundraising really took off after their FBS announcement. They still get a huge amount of their revenue from student fees however.

wow, in the last seven years, their student fees have increased almost 19 million dollars, and the majority of their revenue budget comes from the students!!!! Doesnt seem to me that ODU is being fiscally responsibe when that much of your budget comes from the students, Kinda puts it in perspective.

Not unusual for most FBS newbies. We are the exception at this point. But, it doesn't give them much room for further revenue growth.

The State of Virginia has the highest student fees for its public clooeges in the nation. JMU is over $1,000 too.

We need to raise money.
Here is another recent chart showing similar information for public schools.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... /finances/

Shows that almost 74% of ODU's money is raised from student fees.
Ours @ 54% as I recall. Still think we need to raise our fees, but administration doesn't want to
do it on the backs of students.

Expect to see the fees raised down the road and probably gradually. I think we will try to keep our subsidy close to where it is. Of course, a lot depends on outside fundraising.

Its a good feeling knowing that we are in better shape than other schools who are in the process of moving up or atleast thinking about the move. It certainly helps that our alumi seem to give more than the other schools, and I think its a good thing that our administation is trying to atleast to keep the cost reasonable for the students. But, the reality is they will probably have to rasie the fees for students, just hope they do it gradually, and its well planned out.
