Seems like a natural fit.

Interesting about Jones as well.

ETSU would be a great OOC FCS opponent for us as well down the line as they would bring a good crowd.

Interesting. Someone in the comments stated that Dale Jones has already accepted the HC job. What?

If he can land that job do you think Chris will reprise his career as RB coach and committee member?

For ETSU's sake, let's hope not.

JM has gone off the deep end along with the writer. He is not on ETSU's radar according to all reports. I wish Jones, as probably as SS does, leaves. ETSU is trying to resurrect a program, not Lazarus.

I don't know if Coach Moore is under serious consideration for the ETSU job or not, but if they hire him, I'll be pulling for them/him to get things going. This would help me answer that question about who my FCS team would be. I will still be pulling for WCU and Furman to return to the top of the SoCon but ANY Jerry Moore led team would jump to the very top of my list.

How has he gone off the deep end? It takes men of a certain age, sometimes years, to realize that they need to hang it up. I have no doubt that JM still believes with every fabric of his being that he can still coach. If he gets it, good for him.

I can't see ETSU hiring Coach Moore.

Agreed, it will not happen.

I tend to agree that Coach Moore getting the ETSU job is a long shot. On one level it makes a lot of sense, but his age will be against him. I'm still pulling for him though.

Torbush won't be a candidate. He left coaching because of his failing health! He's been battling prostate cancer for at least five years. He left Liberty saying he had no plans to ever coach again.

ETSU needs to be careful if all these old coaches linked to them are really candidates. While it seems a good idea, most of today's youngsters memory only goes back to yesterday. Remember the Maravich situation we thought was a winner. FAU was able to pull it off Schnellenberger, but he did not stay long.

Talked to a neighbor today that was on their Committee of 150 to bring football back. He said JM was never under any consideration for the job. He says it will be Torbush. He likes the area with connections to CN. He is 61. Another guy that could sneak in is coach from Wis-Whitewater.

That will come as a big surprise to folks back home in Salisbury/Spencer/East Spencer...hometown for Torbush. They think he isn't well enough to coach.

Maybe he's had some successful treatment or surgery.

Also hope it goes well for ETSU. They deserve better than they got from Stanton.

Chuck, Announcement to be made by the 15th. I think sooner. A lot of ETSU folks did not want the smallcon after the defections, but they had to act quickly or maybe left out. A stadium will be interesting for them.

I don't really care who they hire since we are FBS and won't have to compete for recruits against them. If we were still SoCon, that would be a different story.

I would love to see him win another championship and go out on his own terms.

It went out on his original terms. Let it go people.

It didn't go the way he would have liked. I would like to see him get a second chance. If that makes me a bad guy then I am proud to be one. Nothing to let go of. Of all the second chances the man has given I think he deserves at least one.

Some might say that Appalachian gave him a second chance by hiring him in the first place...
