Ohio State is entering a new corporate partnership with JPMorganChase that includes jersey patches for all 36 of the Buckeyes' teams and will yield nearly $17 million per year for the athletic program, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Tuesday.

I'm assuming every local business in Watauga county couldn't combine for $17M.

The patches just keep rolling out..


Notre Dame has reached a multiyear deal with SoFi Technologies that will place the financial service company's brand on the Fighting Irish's jerseys in every sport starting this season, the university announced Tuesday.

The six-year deal is worth about $18 million to $20 million per year, according to industry sources, and is believed to be the richest in college athletics history.

Food Lion, Lowes Home Improvement, Honeywell, Labcorp, Duke Energy, Commscope.

Lots of companies with deeper pockets than Bojangles.

I'd take Lowes and Food Lion if we could get them.

Nascar is the king of sponsorships and we got people over there... Our equipment van should be a rolling billboard.

Lowes made the most sense when they were still based in Wilkesboro, they would probably look at more big city schools now.

Could you put in the contract a base fee for sponsorship with an escalation clause for games that are picked up by networks?

If they’ll agree to pay it, sure. From looking over the OSU patch details I think they’re still trying to figure out if they’ll even be allowed to wear them during playoff games. The CFP wants to protect their partnerships first before allowing any 3rd party sponsors in.

Smart. FIFA just did the same thing with some of the stadiums. The AT&T logo had to be covered on the roof at Jerry’s World.

Anybody know the ROI on something like a jersey patch or even stadium naming rights? Like, how many of you have thought, "I need a good investment bank. I'm gonna go with JP Morgan Chase because of the patch I saw on those Ohio State uniforms"?

No idea but brand loyalty is a real thing. Ohio St fans might switch banks out of support for the brand that loves what they love.
