Great hire by them. Thought he was someone we should have gone after...

he is a good coach, did an admirable job at Carolina considering all the problems they were having at the time. The big problem for JMU is how long will he stay, gotta think that this is just a stepping stone for him.

JMU better hop on the FBS train soon or somebody else is going to get their spot.

What spot would that be?

The last one for a while. The Belt has the last FBS move-up position for the foreseeable future. JMU is #1 on that list right now, but they keep waffling. The Belt isn't going to wait forever.

You know the whole he said she said thing. A couple of friends with fairly close ties to their program tell me no way for the sunbelt. Wish they would but I don't know.

I wonder if JMU would join if the Sun Belt were to offer them football only status? That could lead to them becoming a full member down the road. In the mean time make NMSU a full member, or add a school without football like Belmont.

They still believe the MAC will come calling. Since we moved I haven't been keeping up with the conference shuffling so I have no idea if that is a real option.

With the new G5 revenue sharing agreement any conference over 12 is pulling money out of it's members pockets. Don't expect much movement unless a conference with 12+ has a member poached by a BCS conference. Once the P5 decide on a final agreement then a school wanting to move up better be FBS already because the landscape will change again and if you're not on board you will be left in the cold. Better to have a seat than not.

Just read their board and a few are holding out hope for the AAC. We'll see how that works out.

JMU may get an invite to the MAC, which would be good for them. I think that is a better fit for them than the SBC. However, they really have an inflated sense of who they are as a university.

If JMU feels they are that special they can continue rotting as far as I am concerned.

Yeah, I'd be just fine watching them stay in the CAA and have to play Elon for many, many years.
