Even though I found your review pretty unbiased, the can't faithful are going to roast you on their little board.

I'm sure that I'd be lying if I said that my ASU allegiance did not play a *small role in my outsiders-looking-in view of Whitmire Stadium. Nonetheless, I am a stadium aficianado and like to think that I can take an honest look at a facilty. I know I included a couple jabs in there, mostly at the product on the field, but I think the stadium review itself was pretty on. Still, I expect to take a few hits on their boards (if they're even out of hibernation this time of year) but what writer worth a grain doesn't appreciate the reads...good, bad, or indifferent.

I don't know about best in the state, but presently two notches better than ASU. Our band has lost significantly in both "distinction" and in numbers. I expected that they'd get it all back in the second year of the new director's work. Didn't happen. It just isn't what it once was--not yet anyway. Maybe this year? We can hope!

I actually was impressed with the band this year. They did a lot of different and creative things from game to game. I would like to see the numbers grow back to where they were previously.

I do agree that they had a somewhat different program every week. I was just bummed out that they regularly broke ranks and ran helter-skelter to their next formation. It's much more "distinctive" to march from one formation to another. I don't want to leave the impression that I'm not grateful for the time those gals and guys put in each week to put in new formations and learn new music. They make a tremendous sacrifice; and they're a huge part of the game day spirit, pageantry and experience.

Good review. I had a good time when I visited. Very scenic view. I did find the entrance into the stadium really congested and bottle necking with people moving into one line. No other complaints. Good point too about the performance of the team affecting the feelings about the stadium.
Couldn't help but notice Kidd Brewer was absent on the site. No review.

Forthcoming! The Kidd Brewer Stadium review should be on the site in the next week or so. I of course will pass along a link to everyone here once live.

I'm assuming you viewed the Holmes Dome review on the site, which I believe was completed last basketball season. I was not the writer on that piece, as I deferred to a colleague (primarily due to my desire to not have to be too honest, and I was afraid I could not cut many corners on the atmosphere and such at Holmes). If anyone else wants to view it is is located here:
