FCS Championship game
Field is coming apart ala 2004 Chattanooga. Field coming up in giant clods. Towson doing good until blocked field goal. I think Towson can play with these guys. 14-7 NDSU in 2nd Qtr.

Re: FCS Championship game
NDSU taking charge in the third. Jerry Moore just got a mention. Apparently he spoke to the Bison at the biginning of the season about their goals for a third NC. I did not hear the entire quote - if anyone who did could post I would appreciate. Too much monkey shine in the background for me to hear it all live.
What the F, that looked like a concrete walkway about ten yards behind the endzone. Two guys just came down hard on it. If I saw that right, that is a stupid ass design.

Remember, it is a soccer stadium! They do not hit each other, so boundary closeness does not matter. Now 35-7, pretty much over.appbio91 wrote:NDSU taking charge in the third. I do enjoy the FCS playoffs. However, I think people are loosing more interest in these games.
They are definitely flooded out by the bowl games. Kind of glad to be moving up. Even if it is to the sunbelt.

True, pretty much no off field action in soccer. On that note I think the NCAA sucks for not finding a decent venue for this game. This is a Div.1 national championship game. They should market it as such and play it in a great location. I think it is dumb also to move it to January unless the intent is to highlight it. That obviously is not the case. I have watched lots of bowl games on ESPN and I have not seen a mention of this game. I guess money talks when it comes to ESPN and NCAA.huskie3 wrote:Remember, it is a soccer stadium! Re: FCS Championship game
The NDSU team may have had the most dominating season in FCS history. Just a monster of a year and a team with no apparent weakness.

Re: FCS Championship game
In contrast, the GoDaddy Bowl featuring a Sun Belt team got numerous promos throughout the Orange Bowl last night. The difference in exposure for every bowl in comparison to the FCS Championship is drastic. Sad to say, but most people have no interest in FCS these days.appbio91 wrote:True, pretty much no off field action in soccer. Re: FCS Championship game
No one cares about a FCS NC unless they win 3 B2B and beat a FBS in the process. Otherwise no one cares unless their team is playing. Sad but true.JTApps1 wrote:In contrast, the GoDaddy Bowl featuring a Sun Belt team got numerous promos throughout the Orange Bowl last night. Re: FCS Championship game
It would have been a high scoring game, our 2007 offense would have scored on anyone.

Re: FCS Championship game
In the 4th Q when the win was basically assured they talked how NDS and APP were the only teams to win 3 in a row - they showed clips of Jason picking up the fumble and running it in, then KRich scoring against UMass and the Armanti pass to Dexter at the end of the first half against Delaware and they said their names ---
"Montani Semper Liberi"

Re: FCS Championship game
One difference is that ESPN cares about the bowls (they own many of them) and will therefore give exposure. In my view a shame one entity has so much power. But ESPN has the money and the voice to promote what they wish. Fans will follow that. That is not to say the I-AA/FCS was bigger when ESPN was not such a powerful organization, but ESPN can drive the sports agenda like no other organization. If ESPN really pushed the FCS game and gave it lots of coverage and post-game analysis as they will do for days after the BCS game then fans would show more interest.JCline0429 wrote:Also true of many bowl games.Maddog1956 wrote:No one cares about a FCS NC unless they win 3 B2B and beat a FBS in the process.
