GSU has what they hope will be their Big Wille in the future. Look for a more spread option style from the Eagles.

Some people on the Sun Belt board are saying he was the 5th person offered the job.

They shouldn't feel too bad though it took Texas more tried than that!

took a look on the GS board, they don't seem to be too excited about Fritz hiring, they wanted the Vanderbilt DC, who didn't give them a second glace, then Jasper, the OC of Navy, said, ya right, Im leaving the Naval Academy for that, even Horton, who was a finalist for the App job, said no. To be fair, Fritz looks like a pretty good coach, but it might take a while to get things going, he has no recruiting ties/network in the south, and he is going to take them from a TO to a pistol option. If the fans are patent, say, 2 or 3 years, I think he will do a fine job, but it probably going to be rough going for a while

After the first loss, they will be screaming for the return of their beloved triple option.

Fritz runs the triple option -- it's just out of the pistol.

It won't be the flexbone Georgia Southern is used to, but it's not a complete change of philosophy as when the Hatch Attack was employed. It uses the same kind of athletes. Their biggest struggle will be getting a QB that can throw more than 5 times a game.

I believe, though I not entirely positive that his qb runs the offense from the shotgun, and like you said the qb is going to throw the ball, something that will take them time to get right.

even then, the QB has to actually be effective at throwing the ball too. I watched the video of their game against Cal Poly that was linked in one of the above articles, and their QB couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

I imagine that GaSo may have some RBs transfer. looks like Fritz like to go with a workhorse at RB with one change of pace guy. Tim Flanders was a beast under Fritz at SHSU
