Apparently, the Virginia General Assembly is putting a hitch in ODU's plans for a new stadium.

I smell Virginia/VA Tech officials talking behind the scenes with the Senators, we have Chapel Hill telling us what we can and cant do at our University, and ODU has Virginia/VA Tech. But, to be honest, kinda glad ODU is having troubles, I consider them a big time rival, the longer it takes them to build their new stadium, the better it is for us.

I really don't think it is a VT/UVA move. There are some members of the GA who are concerned about rising student fees and I think this is what is behind it. ODU and JMU are far more reliant on students fees than is App State.

you got to admit both Virginia and VT benefit from a delay or even a postponement of a new ODU stadium, out of all the teams that moved up the last couple of years, ODU, atleast on paper, has the best chance to become a strong FBS program, they have plenty of land to build, a growing fan base, and one of the best recruiting grounds in their back yard, (tidewater area). Not saying they are the next Alabama, but it has become extremely competitive in the FBS, everyone chasing the dollar, Im sure that ODU moving up and their potential has not gone unnoticed in Blacksburg and Charlottesville.

I'm pretty sure that ODU and Tech scheduled a series. I really don't think it is a Tech thing knowing the senator and delegate behind this.

That is correct. A recent study by the Joint Legislative Audit And Review Commission found that on average 12 % of what students pay in tuition and fees goes to athletics in Virginia. The General Assembly is looking into the rising cost of education. This is not going to go away according to two of the members I have spoken to.
