Doesn't surprise me at all. That's the norm for The "U". Always has and always will.
My wife hates when I talk about The "U". That is her team (used to live down there) and has a "U" tat on her ankle.

not sure that will be necessary ---
"Two University of Miami football players arrested on sexual battery charges against a "physically helpless" 17-year-old girl were dismissed from the team and suspended Tuesday.
Court and jail records show JaWand Blue and Alexander Figueroa were booked on the charges Tuesday. Both are 20-year-old linebackers.
According to the police report, both players admitted to buying drinks for the accuser, bringing her back to Figueroa's dorm room in the early-morning hours of Saturday and repeatedly performing sexual acts, including intercourse, without her consent while she was intoxicated and "physically helpless to resist."

Yikes. Admitting to second degree rape. Chalk that up as the second dumbest thing they've ever done.
They'll still have their day in court. Their lawyers will likely move to suppress the confessions etc. But you're right about them being pretty much F-ed.

According to THE WASHINGTON POST, both admitted to the charges against them
"post Miranda." They were permanently dismissed from the U of M football program. Their only hope is for some pre-trial intervention program for first-offenders...that's assuming this is their first run-in with the law. That's a pretty BIG assumption. Maybe they're not so deep into hip-hop thuggery that their lives can't be put back on track.

No tolerance..........I still love the Sheridan philosophy at NCSU and Furman.... He game the kids a list of rules and said if you put your self in any position that reflects on the program you are gone. No exceptions and it didn't matter if you were at fault you were done.

WHAT? You mean football players do have money after all? This really hurts the argument from the Northwestern spoiled brats aka Cain Colter side of things.

What kind of logic is that?
Who is to say the money for the drinks was not acquired in a less than honest way. And even it it was legitimate money the cost to get someone drunk enough to not be able to defend oneself is not a huge expense.

To hear the Northwestern players they don't even have money for food, etc. That is the point I was trying to make. These kids get paid and anybody that thinks otherwise is naive. A friend of mine played at Alabama and after each home game, with the help of a booster's handshake, would always find a few hundreds in his palm, so they are not hurting.

Amen to that. Dick Sheridan ran a classy and straight-forward program. And his teams reflected his no-nonsense philosophy in their play on the field. They'd knock you on your butt and help you up so they could do it again on the next play. And, sad to say, no ASU team
ever stopped that Sheridan sweep. Who'll ever forget the handoffs to Stanford Jennings and the student body right sweep. It was a guaranteed 10+ yard gain on every attempt. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Something similar happened at App back in the early 90's when a certain second string basketball player was working part time at a local car wash and got a C note as a tip from one of the App supporters. Luckily for all involved no one got caught. A couple bucks or so was the norm as far as tips went there. One thing that could would have made it acceptable regardless was the tipper was likely not a Yosef member but just a fan and supporter.
No harm no foul.
