No joke here...is this the highest predicted finish for WCU in a decade?

Since I didn't attend APP I have no real animosity toward WCU - I hope they win the whole thing --- Quite an unimpressive conference now !!!

My favorite part of this thread is that it's in "Other Schools' Athletics"!

Yeah but I'd be lying if I didn't say that the Furman vs Mercer game sounds a little intriguing, given the entire Bobby Lamb deal.

I noticed on a newsfeed this week that El Cid's helmets will now have the name of the company (I think that's it) on the back of the respective player's helmet. The one I saw had "Foxtrot" in about 1" letters on the back. I think that's a pretty classy thing to do and should help with team morale, school spirit and pride.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

I hope they get a picture of "whiskey" and "tango" to the immediate left of "foxtrot".

Beware of the guy who has Alpha Mike in front of his Foxtrot --- :o

I believe Navy and Army do similar things with uniform patches - etc. - very good idea!!!

I can just hear the discussion in the Mercer locker room: "Where the hell's Cullowhee and what the hell's a Catamount"????

Agreed that the SoCon is quite watered down without ASU and GSU. I still plan to follow the conference somewhat this coming season - hard to stop after over 30 years. Somehow I believe WCU will still find a way to finish worse than their projected 5th. At least Speir has some hope in the new conference.

To reflect the watering down effect of the new conference, below is Wofford's complete home schedule for this fall:

North Greenville
Virginia Wise
Citadel
VMI
Mercer

Yikes! I'm looking forward to Sun Belt play!

The sad and dismal remnants of a once strong conference, it no longer resembles the SoCon of my college days (88-93).

Big Sky and MVC are stronger than the CAA. The power in the FCS has shifted to the west and it happened about 3 or 4 years ago.

With the top teams yes - but I did say from top to bottom - CAA has 7 in pre-season top 25 and the Big Sky and MVC have 4 each ---
