...of contracting malaria and dysentery from bathing in the stagnant drainage ditch known as Eagle Creek.
Indeed, in some sort of reckless preseason ceremony these poor young men are being forced to enter the repulsive crick as the gnats eat away at their eyes. It is with this sewage baptism that the Georgia Southern coaches hope to drown away the last ounce of hygiene and self-respect these kids didn't lose on signing day.
Once you enter Eagle Creek, the stench can never be fully washed away.

Mama June could take a dip in there and it wouldn't affect her hygiene one way or the other.
