Bahamas Bowl
I posed this question inside another thread a couple of weeks ago and just wondered if anyone had found or knew the answer - Are the schools allowed to purchase passports for players and staff? ---

Crazy play to end regulation! Maybe the best I have seen!
As for passports - it's my understanding that US citizens only need a driver's license and a birth certificate to enter the Bahamas.

Yes, if it is needed for travel and the player does not have one. But again like other things some schools can afford this and others can't. The teams I am familiar with are basketball (which only involve 12 - 15 players) and their international travel.WVAPPeer wrote:I posed this question inside another thread a couple of weeks ago and just wondered if anyone had found or knew the answer - Are the schools allowed to purchase passports for players and staff? ---

Re: Bahamas Bowl
I got my initial response from the ferry website which runs from Florida to the Bahamas. It suggests that a drivers license and birth certificate are sufficient for a US citizen. However, that may only be sufficient for the one day visit (no overnight stay).
I later checked the Bahamas Bowl website and that site confirms that a passport is needed. Regrets on any confusion.

The passport could be part of their $500 bowl pack. Or it could be part of an ncaa waiver.Cincy App wrote:I got my initial response from the ferry website which runs from Florida to the Bahamas.
