NCHSAA silence

Unread post by moonshine » Tue Sep 29, 2015 12:01 pm

I've looked (maybe not well enough) but have been unable to find the lambasting (similar to what App received in 2008 and ECU from the early 2000's) by the NCHSAA and high school coaches for a fellow in-state college program playing this Friday night. App even gave plenty of notice!

Where's the outrage? Did their AD give notice? Where's the recruitment banishment speak? Do Friday night college games not have a negative impact on high school programs' gate as we heard for months leading up to the Wofford Halloween game? Have coaches and the NCHSAA given up on protecting the "sacred" Friday night?

Don't get me wrong, I prefer to leave Friday nights to high schools. It's just puzzling to me why there is no mention of this week's Friday night college football game when it seemed to be such a big deal just 7 years ago. What's changed?

Most entities have fully realized that there is absolutely nothing that can be done about Friday night college football games. That is unless the NCAA decides to step in and that stands as much chance as a snowball in Hades.

Surprised Judy isn't livid. She may lose half her fan base to the Mallard Creek game. Greedy high schools.

So many jokes that write themselves.

Damnit I hate to say this but Cline is right. College football on Friday is now the norm, I think the ACC has 5 Friday games this year. High school coaches complaining aren't going to stop those TV dollars. Has a marginal effect on HS crowds anyway. HS coaches finally realized all this.

You are correct in that the boat has left the dock, the ship has sailed, and I can't think of another quip. More than the NCAA, if ratings tank, then ESPN will step in and stop the Friday night games. And even then the other cable sports channels could have very low ratings and still be better off showing college football on Friday nights versus some other programming.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
