Imagine that, another team on the UNC schedule before we can get them to play us.

Yeah as I tell their fans - you guys (tarholes) aren't really as bad in football as some think - You (UNC) still have the 2nd best record in the SoCon - behind ASU of course - actually made this statement before last year ---

I realize that football comparisons aren't supposed to be transitive in scores, however consider UNCs game scores this season against our common opponents ECU 27-6 and Elon 62-0. I consider this year's APP team to more than likely be the least strongest since 2004, I'd much rather play UNC with a stronger team to increase our chances of winning rather than to play them once and them never to have any room on their schedule for us and listen to all the Hole fans until I die about how they crushed our JV team. There is a little consideration of saving face mutuality for APP to accept the right time to play them too, just like they will not play us because they may lose and hurt their image, imo.
Edit* I don't care if we play them on an uneven playing field, after the same # of scholarships, I'm ok.

I may be in the minority on this but I do not buy the fact that UNC is 'scared' to schedule us, it is just a no-win situation for them. They stomped Elon 62-0 and have blown out ECU the last 4 years, who we have not been able to beat ourselves.
I am fine with not playing UNC or NC State again until we are at the FBS level.

No surprise here. Not sure why everyone has a hard on to play UNC. I say f***'em, I don't care if we ever play them in football...FBS or not. Whoever the App AD is better work a deal where if we play them in Chapel Hill for football they must send their b-ball team and/or baseball team up the mountain.
I don't believe they are scared but I don't buy into their excuses on why they don't play (public) FCS teams from NC. I'd say getting a minimum of 7-8k ASU fans in Kenan is a win situation for them and the Chapel Hill community.

Yeah, we fans like to use the word "scared" and you are correct, that is not the proper word - "scaredsheetless" would be --- just kidding

--- A very close friend who was an athlete at UNC and worked in their athletic department and is now at Elon has told me numerous times - "Man, UNC is NOT GOING TO PLAY APP IN FOOTBALL - PERIOD!!! - of course, the reason being as stated earlier they have nothing to gain and a whole lot to lose
