What is the perception of Coach Kennedy in coaching circles?

He was a few years older than me but we played and were and captains at the same high school, a few years apart. He was always a really a great, friendly person and made time to work with the younger players like me. I always admired him as a player and as a person.

He also had the unique experience of being in Boone when App beat UM. GSU was in town for a game. He said that it was crazy and fun.

Thanks.

Others would be better qualified than I to answer your question. His winning percentage is substantially under water at 57-90-12 (Nine Seasons); but I've observed his teams to be well-prepared when they step on the pitch to play our Apps. In fact, better prepared than the Apps. In the last four years, his Eagle teams are 3-0-1--holding the Apps scoreless all four times--w/three 1-0 wins and a double OT scoreless draw. That's a staggering stat.

Most D-I institutions would not hang with a coach with his record. He must have exceptional clout on campus and/or in the community or he's winning the only game that counts--the annual match w/ASU. :(

Thanks 66. Kevin's coaching persona reminds me a lot of Caleb Porter. He pushed me real hard in training, and it worked. I think he learned that from our head coach David Morgan.

In my playing days, there were probably three people who were noticeably better than everyone else. Kevin was one of them.

Yeah, about the only things that ever stopped Porter during his playing days were his own knees.

Oh, I still can't put aside the thought that ASU men's soccer hasn't scored on Ga South in at least *four* years! I say *at least four* 'cause I was afraid to dig deeper. I don't want to know.
