Let's not be fooled by last year's score. ODU is better than that.

Are they better than only beating Hmpton by ten? They haven't played well since losing Heinke so I'm not so sure that they are better than 49-0. They lost several games to top CUSA teams by similar scores last season.

You may be whistling by the graveyard. We, in fact, don't know how good ODU is this season. What we do know is that Bobby Wilder said just minutes after last year's game that he'd "never been so personally or professionally embarrassed in his entire life." Without much doubt, he's had his team focused on next Saturday's game all winter and all summer. It's almost a classic trap game in our own house. Our coaches and players look toward Miami this week at their own peril.

It's now 47-21 and they on the verge of scoring again.

Edit: 54-21 halfway thru the 4th.

They have 436 total yards midway thru the 4th, 200 in the air and 236 on the ground.

It is Hampton and not our D but they are more capable than last year's score would indicate.

I still don't think Hampton is any more indicative of how good a team is than Savannah State. You are what the score board says you are and last season, ODU wasn't even close against good teams. It will take more than a simple retooling to catch up to the top of the CUSA and Belt. They need impact players and since Heinke left, they haven't had any. One could argue that during the Heinke era he was all that they had.

Should Clemson have beat Auburn by more than what? 5? (Too lazy to research) Does that mean they will struggle against better opponents? Not necessarily. I don't judge teams by how well they beat their opponents. Each week is a different game. Different game plans, different weather, different travel, different food, etc.

With all of that being said, and not based off of ODUs performance today, more so based off how good we looked in a losing effort to Tennessee. I still think we kick their ass. Won't mean they aren't a better team this season. Could just mean we've improved even more than the 49-0 ass beating we provided last year.

Man, we could be playing Howard next week and some of you guys would say "watch out, they're out for revenge from last year!"

I don't care how embarrassed their coach was, it didn't stop them from sucking last year and I don't think it will stop them from getting another beat down at The Rock on Saturday.

Gee, it wasn't too long ago some writer was comparing our score against Ohio and TN score against Bowling Green and how BG did against Ohio...all the score comparing makes absolutely no difference when the whistle blows !!!

I'm not worried about Old Dominion and I don't think we'll overlook them at all. After the Tennessee game, I can't imagine our guys accepting anything other than a huge victory to prove that Thursday wasn't a fluke. If we had beat Tennessee, I'd be more worried about this being a trap game.
