I posted something similar on CSNBBS. I’m done with this ghost of a commissioner. He didn’t do anything for App last year or Coastal/Louisiana this year. He rolled out an ugly logo during a pandemic. The one time he has talked this week he claimed we were in a different subdivision. And he was run out of town at Richmond for the same issues, no leadership and no communication (IE literally what his job is supposed to be).

I don’t mind the logo and it has grown on me.

Re: #FireKeithGill
In a season where the SBC has truly shined in the national spotlight, Gill has done little to leverage that coverage to improve the stature of the conference. He needs to be way more visible.
He executes the SBC Commissioner job with all of the pride and dedication of a 16 year old pothead half-a$$ing it at Circle K as a part-time cashier.
The conference deserves better.

And yet another case of the AAC Commissioner promoting his team (Cincinnati). Is Gill promoting Coastal? Probably about the same as he promoted us last year- Not at all

Aresco is quoting Animal Farm, Keith Gill is hiding in his basement for the second straight year.

Reminds of of Water Boy. Aresco is Coach Red Beaulieu and Gill is Coach Cline. C'mon Cline find your manhood. Visualize and attack!

Re: #FireKeithGill
its frustrating. I think its problematic of our conference situation where Aresco is in his final job and Gill is angling for a promotion.
He is playing nice so he doesn't get a reputation or blacklisted for bigger jobs.
You see this all the time with ADs accepting bullshit from P5 programs instead of standing up to them. You don't want to get a reputation of "hard to get along with" that keeps you from getting bigger jobs.

Follow the (potential) money. That may not be the case, but it would explain the behavior as some level.BallantyneApp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 11:04 amits frustrating. I think its problematic of our conference situation where Aresco is in his final job and Gill is angling for a promotion.

Re: #FireKeithGill
The league has started to do some tepid lobbying of the CFP rankings, more through the conference Twitter than Gill speaking up personally. Neither has been as skilled at it as Aresco, frankly. And I'm not even talking about tone; I don't care how loud someone gripes. I just mean laying out data to make a compelling case for your members.
I'll be interested to see how the new bowl selection process plays out next year, once we're (hopefully) in a more normal year. I think this is an aspect of the commissioner's job we don't talk about a lot - getting more and better tie-ins, with more favorable pairings. I expect this new system will accomplish their goal of allowing New Orleans to pick ULL whenever they want to. I'm not sure how letting ESPN make the rest of the picks directly will work out for everyone else. (And I say this as someone who is perfectly fine with App going to Myrtle this year.)
