Nobody in FCS outside of the Dakota and Montana schools would add value, but those schools are too far away and seem happy in FCS.

I think we can all agree SBC was not in a good place before App and GS joined. And we were were a key add that turned it around and have continued to drive it better ever since.
Also call me crazy but just can’t see PAC ever regaining autonomy class again. Even the ACC is struggling to stay relevant going forward.

I think the ACC's demise is put out there by the Big 10 and SEC propagandists as well as some of the Big XII nay sayers in an attempt to cherry pick its most desirable members.

Equally as important as gaining App and GS was getting rid of Idaho and NMSU.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:09 pmI think we can all agree SBC was not in a good place before App and GS joined. And we were were a key add that turned it around and have continued to drive it better ever since.

No one was happier about the these exits than the athletes, knowing at least some of the long travel days would go away.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:43 pmEqually as important as gaining App and GS was getting rid of Idaho and NMSU.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:09 pmI think we can all agree SBC was not in a good place before App and GS joined. I think that the SBC extended them bids in order to save the conference and as soon as the conference was stable they were shown the door. I was glad when they left as well.Bootsy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 9:57 pmNo one was happier about the these exits than the athletes, knowing at least some of the long travel days would go away.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:43 pmEqually as important as gaining App and GS was getting rid of Idaho and NMSU.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:09 pmI think we can all agree SBC was not in a good place before App and GS joined. I really do not trust the new PAC because of what they did to the MWC. It is as though they used the MWC to stay afloat and then poached their members. It just seems so dirty to me. I believe the poor leadership is what caused the demise of the PAC in the first place.

I'm sure they won't miss that trip to San Marcos either.Bootsy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 9:57 pmNo one was happier about the these exits than the athletes, knowing at least some of the long travel days would go away.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:43 pmEqually as important as gaining App and GS was getting rid of Idaho and NMSU.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:09 pmI think we can all agree SBC was not in a good place before App and GS joined. If LaTech happens I don’t like it. That is the easy option not the best option.T-Dog wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:35 pmhttps://x.com/Brett_McMurphy/status/1938295598211301377

I would like to see the business case for
1. Stay put as is (for now) wait for something better
2. Adding LaTech
3. What are other options now
Unless 2 or 3 are VERY compelling I would go with option 1

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt
The Sun Belt has improved over the last decade by adding quality schools within the conference footprint (roughly the actual Sun belt). The Sun Belt has zigged by becoming more regional while the big boys have zagged by going nationwide. I think this is a smart move, and has paid off so far. Louisiana Tech isn’t an amazing athletic addition, but it’s not bad and fits with what the Sun Belt has been doing.

I like WKU, or MTSU, sometimes I'm even a closet ECU fan. But f'k La Tech.
So La Tech it is. hate 'em already.

Should be a cupcake win every other year though. Never heard a lick about their baseball or basketball teams- any value there?
I recall watching them in the NIT probably a decade ago but that's it.
Ruston, won't be traveling to that dump.
-Guy that's never been to Ruston but just dunking on them anyway.

MTSU and WKU need to stay together because of their 100 miles of hate.
Have you seen this?

La Tech adds zero value to conference unless ULM is going back to FCS

This actually halts a good decision by ULM to drop down, too much pride to let a neighbor join and then them leave.

I’m told there is substantial opposition to adding Louisiana Tech ,and significant support, at least at this time. It would seem that the conference would want overwhelming support if not unanimous, to add a member. It might be a situation where a “ straw poll “ is taken with agreement that if there is a majority, the others will go along under the guise of unity. I do not know.
