So you're saying our school is second rate, and can't compete with schools similar to us? Gotta love that we arent good enough attitude some of our people have.

Must have been a player before people started taking concussions and other mental trauma seriously.

Gonzo you got the head injury thing right.

I'm pulling for us, I just don't think there is a magic pill that will now bring a far greater talent level to our program. We were really, really good at the FCS level. We didn't own it, look at the last few years, we've been manhandled by teams in each of those years playing in our on backyard. We are going to be battling to just stay afloat in the FBS division. I've got no emotion tied to this just being pragmatic.

And I had my bell rung so many times its likely why I have not emotion involved…. :D :D :D

Our recruiting over the past two years (since the FBS announcement) speaks for itself.

This is about the same time that they thought drinking water in the heat would make you weak!

Don't forget the salt pills either, at the time considered a miracle drug.

I'm not sure we have one kid on the team that we wouldn't have really had a chance at anyway……..

But no real way to know that…………...

Recruiting ranking might be flawed and it is far from an absolute indication of future success, but there was a very dramatic and distinct spike in our recruiting classes since the FBS invite was announced, especially this last class. We wouldn't have had a chance in hell at half those recruits.

I believe there is. According to their comments most of the players we've signed the past two years would not have given us a sniff if still in FCS.

I agree...take a look at the new WR we just signed.

Having a chance and signing are two different things. Ask the people who actually do the recruiting and you will see it has made a huge difference.

Charting the rankings and other offers our commitments held shows the talent level we are able to recruit has improved. To state otherwise is to ignore the evidence.

I don't even understand why we make the comparison. We were in FCS then and FBS now. Why would we expect the same recruits. It is not like we improved the quality at the same level. We just changed levels.

This is no statement about future success but if everything were up to the flawed recruiting rankings than Alabama would win the national title every year. Yet they have only won the SEC 2 of the past 8. I firmly believe App is getting a better group of recruits than in years past, is that enough to overcome the step up in competition, we will see. 5 star recruits fizzle all the time. And 1 stars look like 5 stars sometimes to.

I agree. The only stat that really counts at the end of the day is up on the scoreboard.

We shouldn't and that is the idea we're trying to get Old Wideout to comprehend.
