I agree. The desperation on this board boarders on embarrassing. If the SB can't get their crap together then so be it. We will find a home eventually. The earth is not going to open up and swallow all the poor suckers left in the FCS anytime soon. It is a given that we will make a move. We need to stop acting as if we are deperate to be recognized.

They will, it would be similar to what UMass is doing as a MAC football member and A-10 for everything else. What they will not allow is for a school to play FBS football and house their other sports in another conference that also sponsors FBS football.

ECU looks like they'll be all sports in the new Big East but that rule is why they were looking for a place to house their other sports, the NCAA would not have permitted them to stay in C-USA.

Having all our other sports in CAA, as someone alluded to above, would be a disaster travel and academic-wise.

Travel to CAA schools wouldn't be worse than travel to Sun Belt schools.

Mason and Drexel are A10 expansion candidates. If the Sun Belt adds NMSU they will be a stronger basketball conference compared to what will be left of the CAA.

I'm just sick of reading the "done deal" posts because none of them have been accurate. Besides, a Monday announcement never made any sense. There was a real possibility that both our men's and women's basketball teams would be playing on Monday. Why steal their thunder?

If what you say is true, then he should be able to verify your suspicion and explain to us what happened with his guarantee. As it were, he's been MIA since his proclamation.

I have never thought the Sun Belt would add schools until April at the earliest and more likely May.

Why would they, the teams that are on the top of their list don't have other offers.

Programs like App and GSU are going to have to wait until Tulsa moves and if WKU (or other Belt members leave).

Announcing now vs. May don't impact either party in the grand scheme.

Here is my opinion. The deal was not "in place". It may have been proposed, and it may have been verbaly agreed to but if it was in place it would still be in place. Ask any guy on here who is in sales. Nothing is in place without a signature on the line.

I'm with you, it is pretty pathetic. Two years ago NOBODY wanted the SBC and now it's all the rage. I think it sucks but that is where we are going. Whatever the song and dance may be to get us there but a Sun Belt we are a going.

It's just so ironic that one the absolute best attributes of ASU, that being geographic location, is now our Achille's heel in this scrum. Conversely UNCC has absolutely nothing going for it in this football grab for glory other than location.
