A QB like Knighten can camouflage a lot of flaws.hotrod2001 wrote:What happened to stAte? Lot of guys graduate last year or something?

South Alabama survives Nicholls 41-40.

Troy's the team I'm worried about. They took us to the woodshed last year and this year they'll be looking for revenge in front of a home crowd.

As disappointing as last week was ( Never thought we'd win but keep it kind of close) App State wins the games we are supposed to win. Can't say the same for other Sun Belt teams.

Something like 5 coaches in 6 years or 4 in 5 catching up with them.hotrod2001 wrote:What happened to stAte? Lot of guys graduate last year or something?

ULL loses to Tulane and Willie Fritz in 4OT. But at least Idaho beat UNLV in OT. So we got that going for us.

Right now Troy is the best team in the Sun Belt. App is second and maybe Georgia Southern is third, although they're not happy with anything right now.
Arkansas State is slumming at the bottom. Good grief.

Ga State may be up there as well based on the Wisconsin game. We'll see this next game.

Maybe we are actually pretty good. The defensive backfield is really struggling and some major adjustments need to be made. Nice to see UT staying undefeated. Troy will be a tough one.

That bubble screen that they ran 100 times what the heck they got 6-7-8 yards every time. Our guys gave them 10 sometimes 15 yard off the line of scrimmage????? No adjustment has been made in two games not sure I understand why .i did see the emergence of a few playmakers on offense .

We get Georgia State off of their bye searching for their first win. Not saying we lose, but I expect them to give us their all and then some.

Not saying we are guaranteed to win next week, but what has Ga State done the last two years against us? I think the combined score is roughly 80-3.
While they played well vs Wisconsin, they were dominated by Air Force and looked bad at home vs Ball State.
Great efforts by ULL & Idaho last night.

Re: A State falls to Central Ark
Have you considered this is exactly how Coach Woody wants to play the "bubble screen"? - In my opinion, our guys played it well against Miami as well as yesterday - It sets up a 2 on 2 and if the WR gets a block, it's a 1 on 1 - When you hold you opponent to 6,7 yards in that wide-open scenario the Defense has done a very good job - It is clear our philosophy with pass-first teams is to make them work their way down the field - not to give up a quick strike - All you have to do is to look at our quick TD to Duffield - We threw a quick pass "bubble screen" for a gain - lined up to do it again, the Akron D moved closer to the line, one DB tried to jump what he thought was coming and there goes Duffield wide open for a long TD ---mountaineerman wrote:That bubble screen that they ran 100 times what the heck they got 6-7-8 yards every time. Re: A State falls to Central Ark
Yeah, Troy looks like the team to beat. Blowing out Austin Peay and NMSU doesn't tell us a whole lot, but a win over a good Southern Miss squad and a 6-pt loss to Clemson should give us serious pause. Plus they gave us fits last year, play up tempo, and we don't even get them at home. I worry about that game more than any other.
