With eight of the 10 FBS conference have their championship game and only three Big 12 games that week all on FOX Networks, ESPN needed programming and picked up some Sun Belt games.

Of note here, ESPN elected to pick up two Sun Belt games for national broadcast while the FCS Playoffs got a whopping zero games.

ESPN2 picks up a game that includes a 2-8 Texas St. team over FCS playoff games, new low for the playoffs. I remember in the mid-2000's when half of the games were televised.

Kind of wish App played at NMSU next week so the game would be on ESPN2.

Now that the Sun Belt knows that ESPN will need content for championship weekend in 2017 with the Big 12 going to a CCG as well and the Big Ten, I'd put a lot of Sun Belt rivalries on that weekend and push ESPN to schedule and televise games for Thursday, Friday and Saturday ahead of time on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU

I think the reason for the pick ups is their affect on the conference title. We ain't out if the hunt yet folks. We can still earn a tie for first.

The SBC title hunt isn't on the minds of the average football fan. ESPN looked at the four teams that play in those two games and decided they'd get more eyeballs from those than any four team in the FCS playoffs.

Being on national TV is not going to be pretty for GaSo this weekend. The analysist will have lots to talk about.

No question that we're all pulling for ULL against stAte, but we're also going to need to pull for GS against Troy at this point, right? A 2-way tie is better than a 3-way right? Did anyone else feel a disturbance in the Force as I typed that?

Since our players are off on December 3rd, we should send them down to San Marcos for the week and get them fitted for some Bobcat uniforms.

I don't really care if Troy loses again. Technically I suppose you're right, but to me, if we tie for the title, it doesn't matter how many teams we tie with. Our guys would get the rings and a trophy either way.

True, but it feels better to be better than all but one than all but two...BUT the GS-Troy game will be a win/win in the sense that either it improves our conference ending standing if GS wins, or it'll be fun to watch GS lose again...either way is good for me..
