Interesting read here. It goes from UTC's football attendance woes to talking about discussions the Mocs have had about looking at their options. The most interesting part posted below.
Sources have told the Times Free Press that the Sun Belt would consider making Chattanooga home for the league offices, with the possibility of the conference basketball tournament being held at McKenzie Arena.
UTC is about as central as the Sun Belt can get. I have mixed feeling about the Roundhouse, but there's a lot of positives there. However, the big negative is that the Sun Belt is currently content with 10 football and 12 non-football members.

Thanks for posting T-Dog. I find it hard to believe that the Sun Belt is recruiting UTC, and even harder to believe the SBC is considering moving their league offices to Chattanooga.

I wonder if the league office feels like they get swallowed up in a big urban area like NO and they'd actually have a presence in Chatt.

I'd love for Chatty to be in the Belt. One more drivable game and a rivalry renewed.
Adding UTC and JMU to reach 12 would be the dream.

Favorite from article
"The administration has preferred earlier start times to try to maximize the number of people in the stands, with the thought that fans of SEC schools could go watch a UTC game, then get home in time to watch their favorite program play."
Well it did say SEC fans

"Go to the UTC game then watch their favorite program play?" I'm surprised they would even admit that.

If that is the mind set, then their expectations are not very much.

So kinda like App State basketball and Carolina & Duke hoops fans. There problems and ours are quite similar, just different sports.

I would love to see UTC step up. With the unavoidable future realignment of all the G5 conferences, I can definitely see App playing them again on a regular basis.

If we had the population of Chattanooga we would need a 50,000 seat stadium.....

Please no more FCS move-ups. I could careless about a non-competitive FCS jumping to FBS... what has Chatty done to warrant such talk? Nothing.
For that matter I could also careless about C-USA at this point. They made their bed, now they should lie in it. It is my opinion, the SunBelt needs to either stand as is or make a play for Marshall and So. Miss. Anything else is not worthy.
