Pretty impressive renovation. Not exactly my style but I'm sure the lazy river and waterfall will help attract the casual fan in Jonesboro. Didn't think I would see stuff like this trickle down to the Sunbelt.

The year is 2021 and App is playing at Ark State in late November and a cold snap comes through, freezing the waterfalls and we can officially say that hell froze over.

I don't get the allure of a "water feature" at a stadium and why seemingly any new MLB stadium has to have one... now college football??? seems like a big waste of $$$ to me.
Now, for the year 2021 BigC alludes too who is going to volunteer to pour a big bottle of dawn in it the morning of kickoff???

That only would happen at "Beautiful Eagle Creek."

The upgrades look fine, overall, but the water features are gimmicky nonsense. Who are those for, exactly? Whose experience do those enhance?

I don't really know the rationale behind stuff like that, but my guess is the target audiences are students who don't care much about football and families with young children who aren't ready to sit still for 3 hours yet.

I think it looks kinda stupid...a waste of money and I'm wondering if they're putting that in so that they won't have to deal with empty seats on TV.

But just so we're all clear, this isn't the sort of thing anyone can actually interact with, right? It's just aesthetic, no?
I get the motivation behind elements designed to keep young kids or casual fans engaged (GaSo's mini football field where kids can play comes to mind. I also think of the wide array of activities and side-attractions at minor league ballparks designed to keep parents coming back dozens of times a season without their kindergarteners losing their minds.) but this doesn't seem to even accomplish that, unless I'm missing something.

Good point. The rendering doesn't show any people in the water, so you're probably right.

The waterfall is stupid. It's a football stadium, not an amusement park. Their stadium has potential, don't screw it up with something like a waterfall. I remember somebody on this board continuously bringing up the idea of a log cabin being built in KBS that Yosef can run out before games. That idea was worse than this waterfall. Keep it simple.

To be fair, all you see when you go to Jonesboro is this:
If there is any place in the Southeastern United States that's in need of some landscaping, it's Northeastern Arkansas, lol.
