South Bama's Joey Jones resigns
Resigned, not re-signed.
He'll coach the final game on Dec. 2 and ride off into the sunset.

I agree on Teea Martin being the leading candidate. Only thing that wou;d concern me is how long will he stay?

Re: South Bama's Joey Jones resigns
At this level how long a coach will stay is ALWAYS a question.
Nobody wants to admit their program is an entry level head coaching job but that's just the way it is sometimes. If I'm South Alabama and a coach can come in and make us better, even if it's for 2 or 3 years I'm all for it.

Probably no longer or shorter than anyone else. I don’t think you can hire for the long term in the Sun Belt. The cold reality is these are not destination jobs.

Exactly. Anybody really think Everett Withers is planting roots at Texas State? He takes them from dumpster fire to bowl eligible and he's outta there. Can't pack the U-haul fast enough.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2017 7:43 pmProbably no longer or shorter than anyone else. I don’t think you can hire for the long term in the Sun Belt. We have been INCREDIBLY lucky to only have 2 head coaches in the last 28 years. Before that it was a revolving door and the day may come that it's like that again.

there is a joke in there somewhere in the statement above.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
