Yuge.

I didn't think it'd be possible for the man to golf more than he already does, but here we are.

He threw us a lifeline when others were choosing the likes of UNCC over us and allowed us to show what we can do at this level, so for that, I wish him well in his retirement and I hope life is all fairways and greens from here on out!

It is hard to know what goes on the “inside” but he has made many good decisions and I think he was a great spokesman for our conference. Because of his tenure as commissioner of the WAC and SunBelt he had a lot of street cred for a G5 Commisoner. You did a very nice job Karl.

Never did anything to harm us. He did a better job on tv contracts than CuSAs Judy.

I know some of the old heads on the SBC board don't have too many good things to say about KB (and the criticisms may be entirely justified), but as far as App I believe he's done well.
1) We're invited to the SBC (duh!)
2) It wasn't that long ago that the SBC only had 1 bowl agreement, now we're at 5
3) Divisional play and a CCG.

Much better than Danny "Pretty Boy" Rhodes was in the SoCon.

Benson catches grief on the message boards some time but that's the nature of things. Folks on these boards sometimes seem to think that they are entitled to a "say" in key decisions, despite having a tiny fraction of actual information. By most objective measures, Benson has moved the Sunbelt forward. Some of that would have happened regardless (money from the Championship series) but I do think he has maneuvered the conference to a stronger base. If nothing else, he invited App and GS.

Thanks, Karl!
