This does make me feel better about our season next year now that Troy will be in a similar boat to us. Two of the SBC top programs going though a "rebuilding year" while also retaining some skilled players.
The Gnats are positively giddy. They are so sure that they are the new top dog next year that they are taking their sisters out for a nice steak dinner.
No one would understand the perils of coaching transitions more than them (cough...BVG...Summers...cough)
Give 'em hell!

Not that I expect App or Troy to fall off much, if any in the next couple of years, but the gnats better enjoy it while they can. A couple more years of success and Lunsford will be moving on too. Either a P5 program, or the WWE.

They have the toughest conference schedule (road games against the top teams) then any school. They still think the two most talented teams that bring back the most players can't hang because of new coaching staff. Poor gnat fans are in for a disappointing reality check next season

I really hope our last game of the season is hosting those jabronies in the snow

If you could choose to coach at WVU or Louisville for the same $. What's the better deal?
Louisville - I think it's easier to recruit to as an urban school. Definitely advantages to WVU - better fans, more tradition, better mascot name, etc. but you're also in a league competing with OU, Texas, and the nouveau riche Okie State and TCU.

Louisville really only has FSU and Clemson to worry about.
And honestly Clemson isn’t even that good
?????

They have established themselves as a Top 4 Program over the last 5 years Bama, OSU, Oklahoma are the others and only Bama has had more success.

I’ll take that “not that good” any time

This post should say:

next to last home game anyway.
We need SB Championship @home and a NO or NY6 Bowl

Troy's getting a 300K buyout, less than the 425K App got for Satterfield.
This is weak, Troy getting hosed just as we did.

Perhaps Satt and Brown negotiated a lower salary in exchange for a lower buyout.

Lunsford options will be limited due to his offensive scheme.

Yes, but his wife is out of his league and she isn’t ashamed to tell the world that she sleeps with him.

Did you not see the picture of Lunsford and his wife after the Camelia Bowl? She was wearing a shirt stating such.

Classy move by Brown giving a farewell speech at half-time of the basketball game.

Man's about to bawl out there.

Sounds like he handled his departure a little better than Sat did.

Satt was in such a hurry to leave, he probably forgot to pack his underwear.

Hell No, he took everything that wasn't nailed down. I'd bet there was not a coffee pot left in the football office.
