Would be nice if that support turns into an offer.

So the lesson learned from this article is that if App were a FBS program we could probably get Duke and some others to do a home and home deal with us. Do you think we could pack more fans into a home game with Duke than Troy can? Troy averaged 20,952/game at home last year, App averaged 26,358.

My guess is the Duke/Troy thing is because of Ron Middleton.

Since they are 8 football Sun Belt members now. Makes me think they could just add one more football school. They could be waiting to see if WKU is still in the Sun Belt. If WKU is, probably favors App State getting an invite. If not, probably would favor just Georgia Southern getting an invite.

That would keep their footprint as small and close together as they could. A lot of Sun Belt fans are penny pinchers, especially since part of the BCS money will be given to them by conference - not school number, so their presidents are probably also, and to not add more than the number they actually need seems to be important to them. Just adding one they would be at 9 teams and could schedule 4 home games and 4 conference away games each year.

With our luck WKU will get an invite to CUSA an hour before the Sun Belt presidents vote on any new members.

I really don't have clue as to what will happen but I don't think the Sun Belt is the slam dunk that some of our fans believe it to be. I've got no problem if we do wind up there, but I'm not yet totally convinced it will happen.
