Could be the biggest waste of time poll ever taken. Look at the cities polled. Of course they are going to gravitate/respond to something like this when they are sister cities/towns to states/areas that boast big time collegiate programs. Columbus and Austin being the only two cities on the list that national contender squads actually hail from on the list. This would include both NC areas listed on the study. There is not a team within 150 miles of NC areas listed, that has consistently been top 20 over past 10+ years. VPI maybe borderline exception, excluding last year.Not sure the distance from NC areas mentioned from them anyway. So market away with this absurd study as you please, because when it comes to the mass media market propaganda, there is only one school with a network contract all to themselves, and they aint protestant.
