App fans seems to be consistent on SBC east teams, Marshall, UNCC, ODU, with MTSU, JMU, and WKU next.

Executive summary - Any SBC and CUSA fanbase east of the Mississippi would want App in their conference.

At some point I think you will see a need to cut athletic expenses, (probably happening right now). Conference realignment makes sense with the idea of reducing miles, travel costs, and trying to increase attendance from visiting teams fans will be in the forefront. It has got to happen sooner or later. The existing conferences and the NCAA have to face reality of today's world.

Agreed!! How about something like: App, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, The Stink, Georgia State, Arkansas State, Charlotte, ODU and East Carolina?

Agreed!! How about something like: App, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, The Stink, Georgia State, Arkansas State, Charlotte, ODU and East Carolina?

That puts Arkansas State on an island WAAAAY out at sea. ECU leaving AAC? Not a chance. I’m sure the rest would all sign up though. It makes geographic sense. Replace stAte and ECU with Troy and UAB and you’ve got something.

This would be my list. Every game is able to be driven and good places to visit. I would miss Louisiana and Arkansas State. Would be nice to play them OOC. I hope when it does happen we steer clear of the F_U's. I imagine a conference above would have bowls lined up with the conference Louisiana and Arkansas State end up in.

North: Marshall, ODU, JMU, App, Coastal
South: GS, GSU, Troy, UAB, UNCC

North- App, Marshall, ECU, MTSU, UNCC or CCU for ECU or sub ODU for ECU and put CCU in the south as USM probably won't join without LA Tech or ULL
South- GSU, GS, USA, UAB, USM

ECU really does fit into this group given their basketball situation.

The American Conference is the best G5 but the disparity of talent among programs in both BB & FB and the distance between some schools does not make sense.

Match ups like Tulsa v UCONN, Temple v UH & SMU v ECU make no sense....if we are going to have this discussion we can't leave them out.
