When does the league start pressing the panic button in terms of the magical championship game?

They only have until June 1st to get it done if they want a championship game in 2014. We will know what is going to happen in the short term very soon.

Isn't that only if they can find an FBS program to join? What about these FCS schools that are being discussed? Would they be able to have the transitional teams count towards the total to have one?

The NCAA hands out waivers like candy. No problem here.

That is the plan. Any FCS school would be on the same transition as APP and GS if they are added before June 1st. Benson stated both APP and GS would be eligible to comptete for the 2014 championship game.

This whole conference merry go round is sickening. I barely knew the teams that were in the Sun Belt and now half of them are gone. I used to be able to name all teams in every FBS conference. Now I don't know if I could get one league correct. I will be curious to see what the 2014 schedule looks like.

I imagine this is what the Big South felt like when several of their teams were being "picked off" by other FCS conferences...

Like someone said in another thread... the Sun Belt is a transitional conference... We need to keep that in mind and keep our options open as well...

Yep. Our world has changed for sure. I bet the number of posts for April has surpassed last years April totals for the MMB. How long until the 100 day countdown?

Main thing is our FBS transition.
We will play whoever is a conference member in 2014.
What concerns me is CUSA or others taking Sun Belt team between June 1 and July 1st.
Would take an extra year to add an FCS school to the SB if that happenes.

There are tons of schools beating down the doors to enter the club. If its Sam Houston, JSU, JMU, Mo State whatever. There will be plenty of teams that are beating the door out in the pouring rain to come in. No panic what-so-ever.
