Well looks like Marshall is Official now waiting upon JaMU.
Now IF we were to add two more and go to 16....who would you invite or take?

WKU and MTSU. Middle of the footprint.

Nobody. There is absolutely no reason to go to 16.
Charles broke this down on the new BGP. 14 means 6 home games are in your division and 2 western division games - 1 home 1 away. 16 takes away opportunities to still play the good teams in the west like Louisiana.
The only reason we should add in the future is if we happened to lose Texas State to a better geographic situation or lost ULM for budgetary reasons. In which case IF the money is right to make a run at them go after ECU and USF.

ECU and Charlotte. Move Georgia State to the West.

Without the App State only point of view;
I'd add Memphis (great football and bball, plus great travel partner and rival for A-State) in the west and ECU or Liberty in the east.
I know the thoughts on Liberty but they've got the money and the name brand to bring more eyes to the conference. Also an instant rival for almost everyone haha

In a conference of regionally-focused public universities that have relatively constrained budgets and limited fundraising by comparison, they would be the odd one out with their ability to spend a P5 budget easily.
I'd rather we stick to 14. If we lose someone, bring in WKU. If we lose two, then we'd likely just pick up LA Tech or Middle Tennessee.
Ideally, ECU would join instead of any of the above, but I doubt they ever would.

All I can say is this.... It might be ego talking but App State saved the Sunbelt. Had CUSA taken us instead of passing on us, they might not be in this pickle. Props to the Sunbelt for taking a chance on us and GASouth. Looks like it paid off

Think AsuTodd is right. At the time, I was hoping for CUsa, but looks like it may implode and we may have a good mix of schools. Bottom line is any conf has to have some regional rivalries etc or it's just a random collection of schools

Not just saying this as feel good. I truly think this is a great conference for us to grow in. We need to keep growing or some of these teams will pass us by. Yosef club membership should be goal number 1 now that many other goals have been hit. I think realignment is over for us. Maybe the two basketball only schools leave but now we just need to grow into a great (Constant) atmosphere for football and basketball. I hope we can get a good ooc schedule to continue to sell season tickets. I hope we can land some winnable home and home p5's that will cause sell outs. I want people to have to buy season tickets to be able to get in the gate. Duke, Wake, Virginia. Home and Home.
