Watching other SBC teams have a great bowl season has me feeling like this. I’m trying to be happy for our conference, but I’m really not feeling it.

I was looking at the article A Feeling Deeper Than Hate https://www.underdogdynasty.com/sun-bel ... rs-rivalry and started watching the 1987 week 14 game against Georgia Southern https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JwrCcFM-Rk&t=1s. I thought to myself, "I wonder who was in the IAA playoffs that year." It turns out that half of the 12 teams in the playoffs that year are now in the Sun Belt Conference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1987_NCAA ... all_season. As a bonus, Steve Wilkes catches a pass at 28:30.

I was too.

I too was at that game and if I remember correctly they called for student volunteers to bring snow shovels and help clear the snow off the seats prior to the game. I have a cousin who went to Georgia Southern at that time who still argues they should not have played the game in those conditions (I'm sure she wouldn't say that if her team had won).

Sounds fine to me. Why should we get overly excited about our rivals winning? I know it's good for the league to be strong, but I don't ever want to be one of those programs where the fans are always thumping their chests about how good the league is while their team is getting their butts kicked. (i.e., about 75% of the SEC)

Have watched parts of the 3 SBC bowls so far. Was especially impressed how much fun Marshall was having in 1st half yesterday. We're very loose and having fun on sidelines. Even Huff laughing and smiling. Oh, well....maybe next year.

I agree, I haven’t even watched any bowl games yet, just doesn’t fee the same to me.
