				From The Athletic
Keep an eye out for potential changes at Nevada, ULM and Georgia State.
GSU finished 6-6 after starting 6-1.
If you didn't see how GSU lost on Saturday at ODU...

I thought App. St. wanted Elliot earlier this year. He was going to take us to the promised land

No sane person wanted Elliot. Just like no sane App fan was pulling against Clark.

Yikes, not like quality candidates will be standing in line to coach ULM or (if Elliott is canned) GSU.

Elko to TAMU. I’d be worried if I’m JMU. Seems like a great landing spot for Cignetti.

So Elliot was 6-1, looking like a great coach then his team imploded and lost 5 straight and gave up over 40 in 4 of them. Does a 6-6 team with a 5 game losing streak to end the year really deserve a bowl game? How do you sell it that the players deserve a game?

There may be a strong correlation between folks that wanted to see Clark gone mid-season and Elliott as the head coach.

I don't think you sell anything. 78 teams achieved 6 wins and are bowl eligible.
You can certainly argue that there are too many bowls, but GaSt did what they needed to do to qualify. They'll have a couple extra weeks of practice to try to figure it out.

That was really my point. Too many games and the criteria being that you only need to go .500 and can go winless for 5 weeks. Hard to justify that they "earned it".

He fired a bunch of assistants. Sounds familiar.

Stink fans on Twitter are talking about Helton like he’s going to leave or be fired. I saw one tweet linking him to Duke since Elko is going to A&M.

They were terrible before he got there. Fire him . crazy...
Leaving for Dook. He should take it. Probably triple his pay.

Elkos pr before Thanksgiving
“It's a profession where people just like to put stuff out there. I'm very committed to (Duke). Everybody knows I'm very happy at this place. We're doing a lot of really special things. My family's very happy here. We love everything that this place is for,” Elko said Monday during his weekly press conference
.and I realize they are all going to say this..

I feel like they are justified in their opinion of Helton. If they stay the course with him, 6-6 is their ceiling. Recruiting and player development aside, he made some really questionable decisions in the second half last night.

After a slow start APP exploded and after a fast start Ga State imploded. Both are bowl eligible

Questionable decisions from the coaching staff aside, they’re currently limited by either a) QB who makes really bad decisions/throws when under pressure, b) an oline that allowed a 3 and 4 man rush to get to the QA pretty consistently, or c) a combo of a and b. Their QB play was the biggest differentiator in the game last night. Ours didn’t make stupid passes at key moments where theirs did, and we made them pay heavily for it.

With Kentucky keeping Stoops, and Miss State going with Lebby, gotta imagine Troy is keeping their guy if he really is expected to be an SEC-only candidate. Kinda crazy how several other SBC programs have been able to keep successful guys around longer than we could. UL, Coastal, Troy all kept guys with multiple 10 win seasons. Perhaps JMU with Cignetti too.
