In the College Football News 2013 Sun Belt Preview,at the very end, the writer concludes that the Sun Belt hasn't bought Georgia Southern or Appalachian State- they just rented them. I know we have more pressing issues right now, including the upcoming season, but I can't help but wonder exactly what the writer was thinking.

stupid statement, unless he has insider information into both App and GS administrations, he doesn't have a clue what the future holds for both programs, maybe we leave in 3 years, maybe we stay for 20.

I don't think the writer was breaking news or suggesting he was privileged to any information. I just took it as a compliment that the two new kids on the block were legitimate, competitive programs on the rise,
and not just thrilled that ANY FBS conference would take them.

Could he have intended to say NMSU and Idaho? That would make more sense.

I live in Franklin, NC now and graduated from Arkansas State. I welcome you guys to the SunBelt and look forward to wearing my RedWolf gear to Boone and talking some light smack or maybe heavy smack.

I think he has inside information that we will be in the SEC in 2016.

I think he's just stating the obvious, that given a spot in a conference closer to home we'd take it, and that with our strong football programs (and school sze, etc) we would be a fit in many conferences.

Naturally the SB could be a great fit and we'll stay forever, but I don't really think it's expected.

Well to be fair, the quote was put under a section called "Bold Statements". Basically that means the author pulls a statement out of his backside without any evidence towards it.
In the end though, I think most of us think he's right. I doubt the Sun Belt will be our final destination, especially with all the talk of the Power 5 and Division 4.
