re:attendance, it was Halloween. Doubt the parents/young kids crowd had a ball game on their minds. As for me, I had no trick or treaters and am now "blessed" with a plethora of Kit-Kats and Reese's minis.

Didn't look even close to 17k - I was surprised as I figured Troy would have bigger on Halloween and playing for 1st place - ULM is good !!!

Don't really care to make excuses for Troy, but I watched the first half, and it turned to a pretty hard rain half way through the second quarter. So, weeknight game, Halloween and the same rain that caused the Texas flooding would keep folks away.

Unless I have missed something I think we knew SB attendance was not huge and we will rank near the top.

Many of our "fans" would have never showed up knowing there was a chance of rain. Half of those who did would have hit the exits with the first few drops. Sadly App has about 12-15,000 hard core fans, the rest are what I call convenient fans.

Yeah but some of us have also become OLD fans who must occasionally take in some aspects of convenience

Did not watch close enough to realize it was raining. Fortunately/unfortunately our neighborhood is really popular for Halloween. We went through 4 bags of candy by 6:45

As long as they buy a ticket they are fans in my eyes. I will not look down on anyone who spend one thin dime on the program. We are going to need every dime we can get. If you come to two games a year I say thanks for those two tickets. If you don't come at all but buy the tickets I say thanks. I really and truly do not think people understand that football attendance across the country is down and we are going to need to court the ticket buyer. As an example according to STATSLLC ACC stadiums have been less than 85% full this season. Their expenses though have not dropped.

Not relevant to the Sun Belt. We already know what SoCon attendance is going to be.

And from what I've been told, 7,300 is a gross exaggeration.

Why are so many of us concerned with what Furman, Wofford, Elon, Samford, et.al. draw in their own venues? We get our money when they come to Kidd Brewer Stadium. Does anyone think Michigan looks down on our "measley" 30K home attendance when we drew close to 100,000 fans in their venue?

I work with a UM alum. She referred to our stadium as "a cute little place" when she saw it for the first time 3 years ago. So yes, many Michigan fans look down their nose at our attendance, if only subconsciously.
