Instead of the original $60 million payout the CFP has announced the G5 conferences will now split $75 million. There were other increases as well in the bonuses for conference standings (the top G5 conference will get $4mil), and a $300,000 bonus to the conference for each of its schools that meets the APR standards. Last year 10 of the 11 Sun Belt teams met this requirement. It looks like a lot of our added costs have just been covered!

To make money sometimes you have to spend money. I've said it before, and I personally know a lot of App folks who are still against the move up, but this move up will be the best thing to ever happen to the university. Go App!

Re: Increase in Football Playoff Payout
I agree with your post. I didn't like it at first, but it is the best thing that could have happened. At least we get paid to be on TV and don't have to pay to be on it (FCS playoffs). Plus a lot more positives for moving up.

Nice to get extra money more than expected. If we can have some good football years
there is a ton of money to be made also. If P-5's do stop playing FCS some think $1.5
million for P-5 money games also.

Damn the college Presidents and BOT's for doing this to a great game........... But it is what it is

Re: Increase in Football Playoff Payout
If the P5 does pull out of the NCAA (which is still a long shot to me, that about the only factor that makes them "college") I don't think there wouldn't be a great demand for them playing FCS teams. I'm just thinking they would be pressed to "up" their schedule. I'm sure many of their "die in the wool" fans would still watch but I think the average guy would just as soon skip it if they have anything else to do.GoApps70 wrote:Nice to get extra money more than expected. If they stay in the NCAA but just "call their own shots" I think they will keep playing FCS teams until everyone stops at the same time. IMHO, I think what will determine how many "votes" that gets is how many teams/conference can have a winning schedule just against FBS teams.
If they leave the whole FCS thing open, I think many will still play one FCS, but I hope that some of the P5 fans would start demanding more from their team.
