SEC football no longer on FOX SPORTS SOUTH

The day App beat UL-L was the day South Alabama lost at South Carolina. At the end of the tv broadcast Bob Rathbun announced that it's been fun to broadcast SEC football on FSS the last 6 years but that "today's game" would be the final broadcast.

Don't know if he meant himself due to possible retirement OR if he meant the SEC in general. I figure with the SEC network now having the alternate channels to show all the games not meant for CBS or ESPN, there would be no need for FSS.

That being said, wonder if FSS would be open to produce and show a Sun Belt game of the week in much the same way SPORTS SOUTH and ASN are showing C-USA?

ESPN 3 is okay, years better than what the SoCon had/still doesn't have, but FSS could, if they so desire, showcase the Sun Belt and it would reach far therefore helping out in recruiting. Just a thought. Go App!

It would depend how flexible our ESPN contract is, Sportsouth would likely have to pay ESPN for the rights.

Bob Rathburn is a graduate of West Rowan High School and worked his way up the food chain of announcers. He is a fixture in the Atlanta area and has been the voice of the ATL Hawks for many years. He is a hard working guy and pops up announcing all types of sporting events in the southeast. He has always been great when working App events.
