ULL Ragin Cajuns in the first bowl game of the year this morning. They looked great on their first drive and are up 7-0 now. I didnt realize they have won this bowl for the last 3 years in a row. Good luck and hope they get #4.

This is an early start to a game for me, but I would love to see APP Nation in New Orleans for the Christmas Season soon!!

After watching a bit of this game and seeing ULL's defensive front, I feel even better about our OL!! They are manhandling a Nevada team that averages over 31 points and well over 400 yds a game. Nevada beat BYU, came within 7 of #10 Arizona and 5 of Boise. If ULL would quit over-thinking it and keep pounding that running game, this would could an easy win.

We are a flat out better team than ULL. They had trouble even competing with us. I am thinking that this bowl game should have been us.

Does that financial payout still exist for the G5 league with the the best bowl winning percentage? SBC banked something like $1.2 million for going 2-0 last year IIRC.

The layout is based upon overall winning percentage, if the SBC goes 3-0 we can finish above the MAC. The SBC really struggled in OOC this year.

I listened to an interview with Scot Sloan over at the Scout site. He made the point that just because we finished strong this year doesn't guarantee anything next year. And he said he certainly doesn't hope any one assumes because of how we finished this year that next year is a slam dunk.

We are all excited about the prospects of next year but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Don't fool yourself into thinking because we beat ULL and Ark State this year that next year they can't turn the tables on us. A lot can happen between today and next September.

I look forward to attending our first bowl game and I do believe that it very well could/should be next year but we can't assume that we will improve while the rest of the SBC stands still.

A very nice win for ULL against a good Mountain West opponent. This is a good moment for the Sun Belt.

You hit that target dead-center. Assumptions are dangerous for coaches and teams. Scott Sloan knows that. Appalachian State coaches and players know it. They learned it the hard way in a game with a team called Liberty. Coastal Carolina knows it. At the time, #1 in FCS polls, Coastal got beat at home by *Liberty* costing them the #1 or #2 seed in the FCS Playoffs. Most of the Sunbelt knows it--most especially ULM, stAte and ULL. There no way any of those three teams expected a tussle out of us.

Next year is a whole different ball of wax. We won't catch anyone napping. Not anyone. We'll have to be better and play better or we'll have a lot of finger-pointing fans--again.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Good win for the Cajuns. Can't wait until they come to Boone next season!
