AState v. Toledo
SBC is about to go 1-2 in bowl games this season. It does appear the conference has struggled OOC this season. Likely the weakest of the G5 this year.

Maybe, but the Belt did spot the rest of the G5 its two best teams.hapapp wrote:SBC is about to go 1-2 in bowl games this season. It does appear the conference has struggled OOC this season. Likely the weakest of the G5 this year.

True, but we were only 1-3 OOC and that one win was against Campbell.AppinVA wrote:Maybe, but the Belt did spot the rest of the G5 its two best teams.hapapp wrote:SBC is about to go 1-2 in bowl games this season. And last year v. this year.

We also had the worst conference record in bowls this year as well. This article was online before last night's Go Daddy Bowl.

Hopefully, the conference will bounce back next year. Obviously, last year shows that the SBC is capable of competing for the top spot among the G5.

App was a much better team the second half. The SBC was down compared to last year but leaving the first and third teams out of bowls is a valid point.

I think it's fair to say the league would have had a better chance of winning more if A-State and USA had been replaced by GSU and App.
On the other hand, when your top three teams are a combined 0-8 vs. nonconference FBS opponents in the regular season (plus a loss to an FCS team), it's probably a good sign that your league is pretty bad.

I also agree with that. I was just pointing out that regardless of bowl performance, it was a down year for the SBC.Saint3333 wrote:App was a much better team the second half. The SBC was down compared to last year but leaving the first and third teams out of bowls is a valid point.
