Apps fall another spot in the standings, but so does GaSo. So there is that.

This Spring has been pretty diastrous. Ironic that technically the only sport that was moving up (football) has outperformed virtually all those already competing at the highest level. Our current standing has confirmed for me that our athletic program was never as strong as some thought. Even though we provide more sports than any other Belt program, we are likely to finish middle of the pack in the final standings.

I have thought of that as well about football. Tennis is strong in the SB, and unlike the SoCon the points are tourney only and that will be hard to pick up many points I think. Golf has never been strong at App year over year so that is not going to bring in a lot of points. We do have OTF. Hopefully we do better there but the last year of the SoCon wsa not us winning OTF and te SB ITF was us in the middle of the pack. I think we end up middle of the pack. Nothing to be embarrassed about and ahead of GaSo (what I want to see.)

It would be interesting to take RPI of sports and such and guesstimate how we would have done in the SoCon. I am sure near the top but maybe this is the off year we never like seeing.

We did win many of the Commissioners Cups due to number of sports, but nobody can deny that the competition is a step up (a major step in some sports) in all sports compared to the SoCon. We have also been down in some sports compared to other years as well.

I would not say many for the SoCon Cups. Some but not many. I have that huge 1969 to 2014 spreadsheet I inputed data into last year. In most years we had the highest average point total. The way points were done did help but the averages for us were good most years. I can send the link to the SoCon cups points if you would like to look around and verify for yourself. GaSo was generally a two trick pony while in the SoCon - Football and baseball.

The Germann Cup is a bit different, but not much.
