It's gonna be Disco Night in the Grove, because Ole Miss is going to be in the 70s against NM State.

Looks like two more weeks before we know how good we really are.

Sun Belt looks bad and I mean bad this year. Not just the records, but I've watched (eye test) many games on Watch ESPN and aside from Georgia Southern who we get at home, I see no real threat to stop us from going 11-1.

I'm not going to put ULM in the win column just yet.bcoach wrote:Looks like two more weeks before we know how good we really are.

Re: Updated standings/ Oct 13th-17th schedule
ULM is a potentially dangerous game. And I don't mean that in the "hey guys, don't overlook Howard!" sense. I mean that, while App is clearly the better team, there's a legit chance we could lose to ULM and it wouldn't be a shock.
It's fairly clear that, to this point at least, App and Southern are the top two teams in the league. But the best team doesn't always win.

ULM gave us all we wanted last year and I expect we'll get their best shot Saturday evening. Satterfield has been great at keeping our guys focused on the game at hand and if we don't look past the Warhawks we should prevail but every game going forward will have its challenges.

Just hope the team stays focused week by week, day by day. If we work the plan, the plan works. May sound corny but it's the truth. Go Apps!

Re: Updated standings/ Oct 13th-17th schedule
This is what worries me. ULM is better than their record and they get us at home. We will likely play our starters the entire game which will be close. The game is at 7 p.m. by time the game is over, board the plane, fly back to the Eastern time zone, arrive in Boone, etc. Players probably won't get to bed until 2 a.m. Sunday morning. We then have a short week to get ready for a pretty good Georgia Southern team on Thursday. Georgia Southern gets a home game against a bottom Sun Belt team. That's what worries me most. Two tough games 5 days apart. I feel our boys are up to the challenge. It starts by focusing on ULM and not looking past them for GSU.
Go Apps.
P.S.
I was pretty damn close with my 38-0 prediction.
We are playing great and I am pumped.

This comment is not in reply to the previous comment but just reminded me of something I have been thinking about. Is a team really better than their record? Wyoming was better that 0-4 then better than 0-5, are they now better than 0-6? How can a team really be better than their record after a few games?

Re: Updated standings, next 2 weeks list of games
I still find it crazy the ease of Georgia Southerns Schedule. How do they get by without playing no A-State or UL-L?

Re: Updated standings, next 2 weeks list of games
As crazy as it sounds, we're already probably the only thing standing between them and 8-0. Maybe USA or Texas State sneaks in and catches them on a bad day... but really, who thinks that's happening?boonetown1 wrote:I still find it crazy the ease of Georgia Southerns Schedule. As much as both teams want to win on 10/22, in terms of the Sun Belt race, we probably need it more.

Re: Updated standings, next 2 weeks list of games
That changes next year. Everyone will drop 2 they currently play and pick up 2 they don't. We will pick up NMSU and TX State.boonetown1 wrote:I still find it crazy the ease of Georgia Southerns Schedule. How do they get by without playing no A-State or UL-L?
