Re: StAte v. ULL
stAte and USA will still have a say so after this weekend. The rest of the season is far from downhill.

Re: StAte v. ULL
Yea.... not really..... stAte and ULL are fighting for third and fifth. Both teams have porous defenses. As it turns out, there is a big gap between GASO (for second place) and Arky for third... not just now but for the final standings. Yes all the games are played ön the field" and weird things can happen. As fans, we can look ahead and really this season is playing out like I thought it would. ULL has taken a big step backwards... but they should have... they lost alot of key people from last year. And while Arky has some offense their defense can be and has been pushed around.

Re: StAte v. ULL
Very premature thinking on your part. Not sure how you can claim Ga Southern is in second place before game is played. At this point last year no one expected us to play as we did in the 2nd half. With Knighten back StAte is a different club. Total homerism to assume we will be champs at this point. We certainly have it within our hands to take the title, we control our own destiny no doubt, but things are far from settled at this point.

I hope that stAte is decent. Looking forward to another good battle on that Thursday night game and glad it is at home. I agree that they will be battling it out for third place. I don't see this App squad overlooking anybody or losing focus this season. Clearly defined goals of winning the Sunbelt and getting a nice bowl bid. Really excited for tomorrow night baby!

Re: StAte v. UL
Like I said hapapp, After doing as much analysis that I do, I was pretty confident going into the season, that absent major injuries, and or some miraculous turnarounds by some of the confs. teams, that we would go 10-2 at worst but a good chance at 11-1. And I said previously, the games are played on the field.... so anything can happen. And yes, I am very confident that absent of a net minus three turnovers tomorrow night, we will beat GASO by a minimum of two scores but likely more. At the end of the day, a dominant defense trumps all... and man isn't good to have a dominant defense.

Not sure how you assume that Arkansas State is fighting for third when they're undefeated in conference play. And saying GSU is a lock at second, when they too are undefeated in conference play.AppFan11 wrote:Yea.... not really..... stAte and ULL are fighting for third and fifth. Tomorrow will be a true test of how good our defense is, because aside from Clemson and Wyoming's running back who go outside the edge at will (Which scares the hell out of me against GSU speed), we've not been tested by a good offense. Back end of our schedule is tougher than the front half. It's a good thing the toughest games are at home. I am still sticking with my 11-1 prediction, but it will not come easy.

Assuming/hoping we beat Georgia Southern Thursday, we have an inside track to winning the Sunbelt. ULL and Ark State will both be big tests, and if we go 1-1 against them we still have an inside track to the Sunbelt championship. No doubt about it the rest of the season is a gauntlet but we have the talent to beat everyone on our schedule.

If the win is against A-State, yes. If they beat us, they'd have pretty clear sailing the rest of the way.APPdiesel wrote:Assuming/hoping we beat Georgia Southern Thursday, we have an inside track to winning the Sunbelt. Warhawks are hanging in there 21-28. If they pull it off and we be Idaho our SBC Conference dreams stay alive.
