Rubbing (virtual) elbows with Neil deGrasse Tyson

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Tue Mar 10, 2015 7:30 pm

There is a physics alumna that works at the American Physical Society. Part of her job is to develop profiles on physics majors. The big hitters such as Neil deGrasse Tyson, Steven Chu, Brian Cox and so many more who are famous have been spotlighted. She wanted to also spotlight someone in the less glamorous area of high school teaching and she asked if I would work on a profile.

I never thought I would be rubbing elbows, virtual or otherwise, with a Nobel prize winner and someone so well known as NdT. But near the bottom of the page I am hanging out. The interview I did allowed me to mention App State but that was edited out to be a bit more generic. Also the hobby of following college sports was actually a specific reference to following the Mountaineers. But again some light edits which I can live with.

I did nothing to deserve this and there are 100s or even thousands of high school physics teachers that deserve this more than I do, but it is neat to share a webpage with some of those names.

This is my very generic signature added to each post.
