I always ate at Murphys when I was in school. 6 pence pub is also good.

Pepper's is great, not only for the Jean Lawson but the fried mushrooms as well. For a good old burger, fries and shake you can't beat the Hilltop Drive In on 421.

A JL with rings, drink, and tip will set you back $15. A little much imo but I understand the nostalgia of it if you aren't in Boone often.

I lived at Kensington Meadows for two years and Hill Top was one of my favorites.

So many to chose from:

Breakfast: Boone Bagelry or RIP Boone Drug (downtown)
Lunch: A Johnnie Dee at Macadoos or the Buffalo Chicken Wrap at RIP Klondike
Dinner: Portofino (Spiced Sirloin pasta)
Nice Dinner: Bistro Roca or The GameKeeper

Some of yall are naming things I've never heard of. I need to start staying over night on Game Days just to try some of these new places.

It's a moving target for me but lately it is Savannah's Oyster House on Sunset in Blowing Rock. It's been excellent and I really, really hope it is successful and stays around. It's in the old Mellow Mushroom place.

Haven't been to Boone in at least 7 years so some of these are quite dated:

Dinner: Twigs (Thanks Saint for recommending years ago)
Peddler

Breakfast: Boone Bagelry
Dan'l Boone Inn

Lunch: Foot long Chili Dog with Slaw @ Hilltop Inn at near Vilas
Woodlands
Hot Dogs at the Trolly Stop (loved walking from Raley at lunch)

Eseeola has one of the best filets I've ever had in my life, and I've had many from many different restaurants throughout the U.S.A. It's a pretty penny to eat out there, but well worth it. Men must wear jackets/blazers.

Our post game ritual from my time in Boone was to always hit up Black Cats. Also spent a lot of time at Town Tavern back when that was what it was.
