Made the move 3 years ago and it’s better than I’d imagined.

Boone's been on this for at least a decade. It's a place I'd retire to in a heartbeat.

Probably not Boone, but I could see myself retiring in Blowing Rock

I wonder how they square the effects of harsh winters on old bones? Also, isn’t Boone a bit pricey for the average retiree? Also, I require year-round golf.

Lucky to be down just 10 at the half. Shooting 18% from the are...12.5% from the FT line and being outrebounded 25-17. Ugly App BB.

Maybe this will keep all those folks from retiring in Boone.

Re: Boone, NC - The Best Places To Retire in America Are All College Towns
The wife and I are currently on our search for land in Watauga and Ashe counties. Was a day late twice already on making offers on great deals. We found 20 acres with a stocked trout stream and a small three bedroom farm house listed at $145k. 10 miles outside Boone to the north. All the hunting and fishing I would need and some of it level enough for a garden. Seller accepted an offer the day before we made ours. So the search continues...

I have a place in Todd and will retire in about 10-12 years. I kid my wife, who is 13 years younger than me, she can come and visit on weekends until she can retire.

Would love to retire to the Boone "area" when I retire in about 2.5 years. However, with a special needs 8 year old and an Ex from 3 years ago it is not looking likely. I am like Atl above in that I like to play golf year round.
