This is about as close as you're going to get unless you know a coach, player or manager from that era who has the real McCoy. You also might try e-mailing the SID and inquiring about it.

That looks awesome, would you possibly be able to make it big enough for a desktop wallpaper?8993 wrote:After not being able to find it anywhere but on that helmet, I decided to remake it myself.
Does this seem fairly accurate?

I had one of my buddies make it bigger for a wallpaper. It's on his Twitter page.

Not sure anyone was pushing that, but it's certainly my favorite "throwback" logo.ggasu wrote:Doubt the players would want to wear the "snow" capped A helmet.
There is a reason it only lasted one year.

Why do you say that? I think this could be a fan favorite. It only lasted one year in the 1980s... this is 2013.ggasu wrote:Doubt the players would want to wear the "snow" capped A helmet.

Personally, I think it looks awful. But that's my opinion.8993 wrote:Why do you say that? I think this could be a fan favorite. It only lasted one year in the 1980s... this is 2013.ggasu wrote:Doubt the players would want to wear the "snow" capped A helmet.

I think a lot of our past logos have looked awful, but when you take into account how many we have had, this one looks a lot better than most.ASU-FTW wrote:Personally, I think it looks awful. That logo is great for the Adam and Eve catalog, just not for a college football team helmet.8993 wrote:Why do you say that? I think this could be a fan favorite. It only lasted one year in the 1980s... this is 2013.ggasu wrote:Doubt the players would want to wear the "snow" capped A helmet.

The seller removed the listing within the last month (should've bought it when I had the chance), but maybe you can see the logo more clearly here. Your A and your snow caps are too pointy, and the legs of your A are different sizes. Good render nonetheless, and I'm with you in thinking that this logo should make a comeback in a few years. A true throwback to the '82 season (old gold and all) would be great. IMO however, modernizing this logo too much could be a disaster as it's not quite as timeless as old school Yosef.

This reference makes no sense...what about the snow capped A looks like lingerie?ggasu wrote:That logo is great for the Adam and Eve catalog, just not for a college football team helmet.8993 wrote:Why do you say that? Re: Snow capped 'A'
I was hoping in 2012 to have a 30-year throwback with the snow capped A. I emailed Charlie about it, but obviously it didn't happen. Oh well.Appftw wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-APPALACHIA ... true&rt=nc

Re: Snow capped 'A'
The snow capped "A" reminds me too much of the "ASU Football Aint Working" era, don't like it.
Re: Snow capped 'A'
The name that should never be mentioned again in association with ASU football keeps rearing it's ugly head over and over lately. Can we not let this era please die a graceful death. I am not in the mood nor mindset to relive one of the worst times in my collegiate life.
That man and that name on need to be referenced in the record books. (or lack thereof)
Please forget this Snowcapped "A" idea and the man responsible for it!

Re: Snow capped 'A'
I have that logo painted on my tailgate tent. I painted it on myself and also painted a buddy of mine's tent as well. You can see it in Duncan lot during football games. Also, have that logo in a magnet for my Ford F150.
