Athletic department money
Looks like we stand pretty well against our peers. We've certainly done some fundraising. We'll see how NIL giving chips away at this.

Re: Athletic department money
Wonder where ODU is getting the money from? And some of the other G5s for that matter.

Re: Athletic department money
ODU long has had strong fundraising on their basketball success. Also, they're in a major city.

Re: Athletic department money
Based on the ODU conversation...I wish we would add VCU and Davidson for Basketball to our conference. I think VCU has good baseball as well. Especially if we end up splitting the conference and end up with the East Coast conference.
I was surprised at the OHIO Univ. number. I thought they had better support than that. I thought they would be a good add with us having Marshall and the Virginia teams.

Putting Washington State & Oregon state in the G5 category is interesting. Not sure it is apples to apples, I would think there future numbers are on the decline barring a miracle.

Re: Athletic department money
Wyoming is the flagship state university, and is the only 4 year university in the state. There’s also a ton of wealth in Wyoming, so I can definitely see them doing well in fundraising.
The state isn’t hugely populated (it may be the smallest based on density), but the entire state is behind that team.
Give 'em hell!

One that blows my.mind is Houston. Only 20 mil with one of America's largest cities and some serious name recognition compared to others in that money range. HOF pros, drafted pros of various sports oil money. Someone is dropping the ball hard.

Based on the news we see from Houston I don’t know how much of the cities population concentrates on that university. Anyone know how local support for the Texans even is?

This is earned income. We will always be near the top of this list because of our over capacity sell out home football games.
Operating income is where the discrepancy is.

$800k per game is pretty good. Per head is low but only due to the large student turnout, which has always been impressive.

Hmmmm. Doesn’t South Ally have the highest performing overall athletic program in the conference?

Not sure Madison isn't supplanting them.

Though clearly those two seem to be best overall. The Spring season may determine the winner.

Perhaps. Point being return on investment. Would be interesting to compare $$$ with results going forward.hapapp wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 11:40 amNot sure Madison isn't supplanting them.
