I like a good singer-songwriter such as the late Nanci Griffith. I like folk-country, not rock-country I guess is the best way to put it. But I digress.

If anyone has the PBS Passport to watch old PBS programs, Austin City Limits did a "Best of Nanci Griffith on ACL" that is about an hour of the best of Nanci Griffith live. It goes back to her first time on ACL in 1984/1985 season. Lyle Lovett did his friend a favor by singing backup.

I am happily listening to "Love at the Five and Dime" as I type this.

I was resistant to listening to RKS because I thought their name was silly and assumed they wouldn’t be good. I accidentally listened to their new song “Superstar” on 106.5 a few weeks ago and was intrigued, so checked out some of their other songs and I think they’re pretty awesome. How they got their name was interesting and it’s cool that their first label was through App State. Also, they’re playing at Spectrum Arena in Charlotte in October, as well as PNC in Raleigh.
