Explain: PlayFly Sports
How does this benefit Appalachian State University? What does Appalachian get, what does Appalachian lose?

Paying them to make us more money because we aren't all that great at what they do.
It will streamline more of the process and reduce labor hours on our part to hopefully put out a better marketing and revenue earning product off the field.

They're replacing Learfield. They have some impressive schools in the portfolio.

So, does this mean that ice in cups is now guaranteed?

They are also paying us more in the short-term to create this partnership. We are really setting ourselves up to be a player in the G5 NIL realm within the next 2 years.

Re: Explain: PlayFly Sports
yes to replacing learfield. if it effects anyone, it would be adam witten. hes the only one that actually works for learfield, according to google he's the Vice President of Broadcast Operations for learfield. i dont think they would let him be the radio guy for an opposing company, but crazier things have happened. everyone else (brandon turner, david ware, molly cotton, etc) are just freelancers that learfield/app paid. and matt presant works full time for app.
(this is not me saying adam is not coming back, not trying to spread that rumor. would be sad to lose him in the change)

Re: Explain: PlayFly Sports
Matt and Adam are so good I find myself nearly always choosing the radio stream over TV streaming, though that may be because I can listen to the radio while doing other things instead of being stuck in front of my TV. But the guys definately make that choice easier.

It’s a bit more complicated than that. While he loves calling games and he wants to keep doing it, it’s a side hustle as he is a VP at Learfield. That job feeds his family.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 7:14 amThat is too bad. Adam has been great. I hope they hire him

Adam is the best PBP voice we’ve had, and I say that with no slight to DJ or the ones who have come before him. We’ve been blessed.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 7:14 amThat is too bad. Adam has been great. I hope they hire him
